Griselda Pollock and Michael Arnold in conversation
10 Jul 2026 7-8pm
Professor, feminist and art historian Griselda Pollock is joined by Michael Arnold, grandson of photographer Eve Arnold, to discuss Eve Arnold’s thoughtful, charismatic and spirited images of Marilyn Monroe throughout her career, chaired by Dr Celia Graham-Dixon.
Marilyn Monroe and Eve Arnold held a relationship of trust, confidence and collaboration, creating images together that show a beautiful, vulnerable side of Marilyn that was rarely seen, let alone captured, making Arnold’s work a singular and shining example of a woman seen and captured by another – equal, unembellished, unretouched.
