Erdem Moralioglu in conversation with Charlie Porter
14 Nov 2025 7-8pm

In this exclusive event inspired by our current exhibition, Cecil Beaton’s Fashionable World, celebrated fashion designer Erdem Moralioglu talks to writer and fashion historian Charlie Porter about the influence of Beaton on his work.
A passionate supporter of the arts, Erdem has shown his collections in a series of historically and culturally significant institutions including the National Portrait Gallery, the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, and his Autumn Winter 2020 collection was directly inspired by Beaton’s photographs and theatrical sensibility.
Making reference to works in the exhibition which celebrate Beaton’s era-defining high fashion photography in Britain and America, Erdem and Charlie will explore the ways in which Erdem has been drawn to Beaton’s oeuvre specifically, as well as how he uses historical references more generally to inform and influence his work.
Please note, there will be book signing immediately after the talk in the Main Gallery shop.
