Overview
As part of our collaborative program with @kravitzcontemporary 17 projects present "An evening with Mark Leckey". The Turner Prize winning artist and true pioneer will be present for a screening of two of his mesmerising films.
'Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore", a vignette of found footage and an amalgam of ambient sounds and rave chants that perfectly encapsulate the magic of British Club Culture. This film has an enduring poignancy more than 20 years after its release (garnering more attention in recent years after being sampled by Jamie XX and The Avalanches)
"Dream English Kid 1964 – 1999 AD" , a collage of "found memories" exploring British Culture from 1964 (the year of Leckey's birth) - 1999 and displays Leckey's tendency to turn an eye towards under represented and overlooked aspects of British culture.
