Overview
Taking as a departure point Lea Vergine’s seminal book Body Art and Performance: The Body as Language (1974), this exhibition examines the birth and development of performance art. Focusing on Gina Pane and the dance performances of Trisha Brown and Simone Forti, the exhibition articulates their enduring influence on a younger generation of artists working on the theme of performance. With a special focus on Gina Pane. Private Views on 9 & 15 October.
