Overview

The multimedia project entitled ULTRA-SUPER-NATURAL is an exhibition as an organism, composed of films, animations, photographs, drawings by BARBORA ŠLAPETOVÁ and sculptures by LUKÁŠ RITTSTEIN. The show includes accompanying books of the same name.

Barbora Šlapetová and Lukáš Rittstein

Both artists graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague - she in painting, he in sculpture. Barbora Šlapetová is a painter, photographer and experimental filmmaker and has been collaborating with NASA in her art projects since 2009. Lukáš ran the sculpture studio at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts for ten years (2013-2023) and received the Jindřich Chalupecký Prize 1999 for the best Young Czech artist. Barbora received the DAAD scholarship in Berlin 2000 and the Best Film Award at the Kyoto Biennale 2019. They both represent the Czech Republic - among others at EXPO Shanghai and EXPO Milano. Both are winners of the Magnesia Litera Prize for their book Why the Night is Black (Kant 2005). They are tribal artists of the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, where they monumentally present their projects - 2009 Manop, The Final First, 2015 Everything is Different and 2020 UltraSuperNatural.
