Andy Gotts: Thank You, But No

30 Sep-9 Oct 2022

Maddox Gallery, Westbourne Grove
London W2 5RU

Overview

One of only a select few to be awarded an MBE for his services to photography, Andy Gotts has spent the past three decades photographing some of the world’s most famous faces. However, Gotts himself is the first to admit that the early days of his career as a celebrity photographer were far from easy with a seeming endless wave of rejection letters. Now, three decades later, Andy Gotts' Thank You, But No is a retrospective and a celebration of his most notable 'rejections', and how he turned them into his most illustrious monochromatic portraits.
