Libby Heaney: slimeQore

18 Jun 2022

Zabludowicz Collection
London NW5 3PT

Overview

Slide into the slimy world of quantum computing through a live performance lecture by Libby Heaney. As part of our exhibition, Among the Machines, the artist and quantum physicist presents the premiere of slimeQore, an evening of immersive video montage and spoken narrative that utilises slime as a metaphor for the blurry, slippery quantum world.

Heaney uses data from IBM's five qubit quantum computing systems to continually recompose video montage across the gallery, revealing the multidimensional and layered reality of quantum computers, as well as the “slimy” corporations developing quantum technology through slime-like interfaces.

Through metaphor and embodied play, the performance explores quantum computing in a fun and accessible way. No prior knowledge required!
