Role Play : Neeta Madahar-Madame Yevonde
20 May-3 Jul 2011
Pitzhanger Manor House & Gallery
London W5 5EQ

In a new exhibition of distinctive and visually seductive photography, Neeta Madahar’s Flora portrait series will be shown for the first time alongside the images that inspired the work - the 1935 Goddesses series by celebrated British society photographer and pioneering exponent of colour photography, Madame Yevonde. Although separated by more than 80 years, both photographers are united in their exploration of artifice, theatricality, and the construction of female roles.
