Petra Feriancová

Petra Feriancová’s practice primarily uses the mediums of photography, sculpture and installation. Often working with archives of people closest to her and other materials, she interprets and re-organises them in a non-linear manner in the pursuit of finding alternative structures for how meaning and matter are constructed and perceived.

The artist lives and works in Bratislava, the Slovak Republic. Feriancová graduated from the Bratislava Institute of Art and Design in 1995, followed by the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Bratislava, 1996, and L’Accademia delle Belle Arti, Rome, 2002. In 2016, she completed a PhD at the Department of Intermedia and Multimedia at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, the Slovak Republic. She has twice received ArtVerona’s Level 0 award, in 2015 and 2019, as well as the Oskár Čepan Award in 2010. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Slovak National Gallery, GMB Gallery of the City Bratislava, Art Collection Telekom, AGI Verona, European Investment Bank EIB, Fondazione Morra Greco, Palazzo Collicola Spoleto, Villa D’Este Tivoli, Collezione Planeta Palermo, the Mario Testino Collection, and the Lawrence Benenson Collection.
