Informality

About

Informality is a nomadic art gallery, based in London, which regularly curates solo and group exhibitions with international contemporary artists.

In 2019, Informality engaged in a three year gallery project and hosted a permanent physical space in the Oxfordshire countryside in the UK. The gallery brought a critically engaged, contemporary exhibition programme with a broad focus of an environmental theme.

Since its inception, Informality has curated and co-hosted renowned Australian artist Jamie North's first solo show in London, titled 'Inflection' with Pi Artworks London. In 2020 Informality engaged with The Sidney Nolan Trust and brought a virtual exhibition during the closures of the COVID-19 pandemic, showcasing works by Anthony White throughout Sidney Nolan's 17th century manor, The Rodd, and later in 2021 held a physical exhibition of Sir Sidney Nolan's never shown before, intimate polaroids alongside of paintings from the Trusts collection. Other notable exhibitions include; 'Women In Photography' co-curated by Virginia Woods-Jack, Francesca Mollett's 'Wild Shade', 'From Nature' and Rebecca Partridge's 'On A Clear Day'. In 2021 Informality were acting advisors for Oxford University and St Hilda's College, and in the same year developed a partnership with worldwide advisory Gurr Johns. In 2022, Informality joined International arts hub Cromwell Place to bring a diverse exhibition programme into London.

Informality's projects and exhibitions have been featured in FAD Magazine, Clot Magazine, Ocula Magazine, Hole & Corner, Artnet, FT How to Spend It, Aesthetica and Artforum.
