Overview

The Foundation Summer Show is a celebration of the achievements of our Foundation students as emerging artists, and a vibrant platform to showcase their final project work to the public.

The Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media is an exciting and intense one-year (full-time) course, providing the opportunity for students to work across a range of specialist disciplines within the creative arts. The course encourages risk-taking and experimentation with new materials, approaches and methods, building a strong creative grounding that develops students as highly skilled, individual learners in artistic and creative practice within specialised methodologies of art, design and media, culminating in strong portfolios and artistic direction – a bridge to progression onto undergraduate study, or employment. The course also offers a space in which to explore and develop artistic and creative practice at any stage of life.

The student work exhibited showcases the diverse range of projects that are undertaken across the course’s nine specialisms:
