Overview

Apophenia is the first major solo exhibition in the UK by London-based artist Leah Clements, produced by Arts Catalyst (Sheffield) and Peer Gallery (London).

This exhibition at Exchange Place features a single-channel film, newly-commissioned by Arts Catalyst and Peer Gallery, alongside a series of sculptural and audio works.

The film traverses different sites where water has been used for healing and restoration, from an ancient Roman bath to a contemporary luxury spa.

Apophenia takes its name from a psychological state, characterised by seeing patterns in unrelated subjects and objects.
