Icheon and Beyond: The Space Within Form
27 Mar-5 Jun 2026
PV 26 Mar 2026, 6-8pm
The Korean Cultural Centre UK (KCCUK) cordially invites you to the Private View of Icheon and Beyond: The Space Within Form.
Presented as part of London Craft Week 2026, this exhibition is a meditation on the unspoken endurance of Korean ceramics. The journey begins with the distilled presence of 21 Master Artisans from Icheon. Their works serve as a physical record of the seasons—where decades of silent labour have transformed clay into a profound language of stability and grace.
The narrative then flows into the visionary responses of 6 Contemporary Artists. Here, the sedimented wisdom of heritage meets the fluidity of modern expression, exploring how the quiet strength of the past informs the bold sculptural languages of today. It is a transition from the deep stillness of the masters to the vibrant rhythms of the present.
Join us for an evening of quiet contemplation and conversation to mark the opening of this significant bridge between the craft heritage of Icheon and the vibrant art scene of London.
