In conversation with Annie Trevorah moderated by Denis Maksimov
7 Apr 2026 6.30-8pm
Annie Trevorah turns spaces ranging from gallery interiors, office lobbies and
public parks into post-human habitats. With Natural Orders of Hybrid Ecologies
Shtager Outdoor presents a curated selection of new and recent works in a
domestic setting, both inside and out.
Just as nature evolves and adapts to changing conditions, Annie Trevorah's
ambiguous sculptures morph and mutate as they challenge man's dominance
over other life forms. The distinction between plant and human blurs as
attributes and characteristics merge, natural and synthetic materials
become one.
Natural Orders of Hybrid Ecologies introduces a couple of brand new
sculptures that highlight the interdependency and vulnerability of species with
emphasis shifting from plantlife to animal and the human body.
Denis Makismov opens his exhibition text with questions the questions Where
does nature end and culture begin? and What does their transmutation hold?.
Join him and the artist for answers and a discussion about the concepts at the
core of Annie Trevorah's practice on 7 April.
