Overview

The afternoon will include a short reading from Sophio’s bilingual monograph, ‘Bastard Sun’ (2023), interwoven with a screening of short or excerpted films that offer a glimpse into her wider moving image practice.

The programme will be followed by a conversation between Sophio and artist Morgan Quaintance about Sophio’s writing and moving image practice. The exchange will reflect on the broader concerns that inform their approaches to filmmaking and storytelling, and offer a chance to hear both artists speak about the ideas that shape their work.
