Overview

Italian photographer Wanda Wulz (1903 – 1984) belonged to a distinguished family of photographers, including her grandfather Giuseppe. She often collaborated on work with her sister, Marion Wulz (1905 – 1993), with whom she eventually took over the photography studio of their father, Carlo. The duo photographed celebrities including athletes, dancers, actors and the fashion designer Anita Pittoni. In 1932, Wanda joined the Futurist movement after meeting F. T. Marinetti and her photography would grow increasingly experimental, frequently incorporating superposed images, most famously in her iconic self portrait, I + Cat.  This exhibition traces the legacy of the entire Wulz family and is organised in collaboration with the Fondazione Alinari per la Fotografia, with the support of Calliope Arts Foundation.
