Overview

Material Interest brings together six artists who explore textiles, threads, and fibres within their work, though from different perspectives and practices. Assembling sculpture, painting, works on paper, and fibre works, this interdisciplinary show explores the possibilities of textiles both as medium and as subject. From sculptural forms to textile works, the exhibited works invite you to explore surface, texture and form, and to reflect on themes of presence and absence, memory and time, activity and labour, and the unseen narratives and history embodied within materials.
