Decorated – The Sculptural Ceramics of Ebony Russell
Brookfield Properties Craft Award 2025 Exhibition
Presented in partnership with the Crafts Council UK and Cynthia Corbett Gallery
Exhibition runs from 19 May – 26 September 2025
99 Bishopsgate and 30 Fenchurch Street
This landmark exhibition celebrates Ebony Russell as the 2025 recipient of the Brookfield Properties Craft Award, the first international artist to receive this prestigious honour.
Russell’s work reimagines traditional ceramic techniques through a contemporary lens. Using piped porcelain in intricate, gravity-defying forms, her sculptures explore themes of gender, ornamentation, and the boundaries between craft and fine art. In this exhibition, she pays homage to and disrupts the legacy of Wedgwood, one of the most iconic names in British ceramics.
Curated by Samantha Williams, Director of Arts and Events at Brookfield Properties UK, the exhibition will be on view across two of Brookfield’s landmark London venues: 99 Bishopsgate and 30 Fenchurch Street.
This is a significant milestone for Cynthia Corbett Gallery, which previously celebrated Matt Smith as the inaugural winner of the award in 2020. We are honoured to continue our commitment to showcasing boundary-pushing, award-winning contemporary craft.
