Cynthia Corbett Gallery is proud to present a landmark solo exhibition by acclaimed artist Andy Burgess, lauded by Tatler’s Annabel Sampson as “the next David Hockney.” Modernism Revisited marks two decades of Burgess’s bold, visionary approach to architectural painting. Known for his vibrant reinterpretations of modernist masterpieces and intricate collages composed of vintage ephemera, Burgess brings a dynamic fusion of colour, geometry, and nostalgia to the forefront. Burgess draws deeply on the history of modernist architecture in both Europe and the USA, exploring its intersections with abstract painting, avant-garde design, and modern art. His dreamlike renderings of iconic structures, reimagined through inventive palettes and theatrical lighting, sit alongside dazzling cityscapes and richly layered collages. These works celebrate the radical beauty and enduring relevance of 20th-century design.
