Book Launch: Nicola L. Life and Art

2 Nov 2023 7-9pm

Camden Art Centre
London NW3 6DG

Overview

Nicola L.: Life and Art, the first comprehensive monograph celebrating the life and work of Nicola L., will launch on Thursday 2 November at Camden Art Centre, London.

Published by Apartamento, edited by Hannah Martin and Omar Sosa, and made with the support of Alison Jacques, London and the Nicola L. Collection and Archive, this monograph brings together original images of her work, archival photographs, essays, interviews, and journals evidencing the breadth of L.'s creative practice.

A conversation featuring Hannah Martin (editor and writer), Dr Flavia Frigeri (curator, National Portrait Gallery) and Oliver Lanzenberg (cinematographer and Nicola L.’s grandson) will take place at 7 pm, where they will share insights into the making of the book and the journey of uncovering the artist's life and work.

This event anticipates the first European retrospective of Nicola L.'s work to take place at Camden Art Centre, London in autumn 2024.

The event is free, but spaces are limited and can be reserved via the Camden Art Centre website here:
