Overview

Four large scale sculptures by Abigail Reynolds focus our attention on the movements of sun and wind in the garden and meadow.

Stelea are a group of three slender structures in blackened steel with mirrored steel insets which frame and reflect elements of the garden, pluralising our sense of place. Their cool geometry offers a counterpoint to the cacophony of texture and colour in the garden. The mirrored sections isolate elements of the plant life encircling them, and reflect the passing viewer, whose image is scattered and mingled with the garden.

Structure for the Wind is placed in relation to the prevailing wind in the meadow. Lengths of fabric, with arrow-like piercings, partially obscure and tint the view of the landscape beyond, and set up a complex overlay of patterns animated by the movement of the wind.
