WIA Gallery is pleased to present Reduce Speed Now, a solo exhibition of work by contemporary Sussex based artist Nessie Ramm. Opening with a private view on Friday 1 September 6-9pm the exhibition runs until 30 September. Ramm is known for her work over-painting road signs, effectively ‘re-wilding’ urban signage, and recycling discarded items into her work.
Ramm is fascinated by the way nature attempts to reclaim the ‘edge-lands’ of our road networks: road verges, roundabouts, slip roads and litter strewn lay-bys. Ramm is on a mission to render visible the wildness and value of unloved spaces and sounds a klaxon call to re-evaluate our relationship with the natural world.
WIA Gallery will also run events including an artist talk and artist walk and talk (workshop). See @wia_gallery instagram for details.
