Artist Talk: Bridget Smith & Ben Burbridge

2 Feb 2023 6.30-8pm

The Photographers’ Gallery
London W1F 7LW

Overview

Hear artist Bridget Smith discuss her new work in this unique talk.

British artist Bridget Smith discusses her approach to photography, which spans across analogue and digital, still and moving image, and sculpture and installation. United in her interest in light and a sense of place, with a particular focus on scale, colour and pattern, her work looks at our need to feel both elsewhere as well as connected to our environment.

Bridget will take us through developments in her practice and will also share a new moving image piece and photographic works. This talk will be chaired by curator and writer Ben Burbridge.

Ben Burbridge is a writer, curator, and academic whose books include Revelations: Experiments in Photography (Mack 2015) and Photography After Capitalism (Goldsmiths 2020). He is Professor of Visual Culture at the University of Sussex.
