Overview

Drawing and painting has always been an integral part of my life, a way of visualising and creating thoughts, ideas and emotions. In the last couple of years of the pandemic, I have been able to commit much more time to my painting and recently concentrating on larger works and experimenting with painting on steel and aluminium. I am currently exploring colour and form by isolating and intensifying them in my abstract work, changing the way I paint and the surface I paint on, challenging me to work differently.  On sheets of aluminium and steel, the texture and quality of the paint changes and the fluidity and movement is freed up. I am trying to convey a sense of excitement and explosion of colour in its application.

It has always been a natural and essential thing for me to translate my observations and perception to a tangible form. I feel the colours smouldering and an overwhelming urge to commit hand to paint and I hope that this energy and passion can be experienced by the viewer in the work.
