This is the first solo museum exhibition of A.R. Penck's in the UK in over 30 years. A.R. Penck was an internationally acclaimed German artist, best known for his work in painting, drawing, print and sculpture. His interests in systems theory and cybernetics, as well as pre-historic cultures and science fiction, guided his art towards an investigation of the relationships between man and society. This is his first solo museum exhibition in the UK for 30 years. It features work from the '70s and '80s that represent the artist's energetic style, focusing on the motif of the stick figure.
