Overview

Matias Serra Delmar presents a bold and vibrant series of paintings informed by his observations of light in the Herefordshire countryside. His abstract works invite the viewer to contemplate what is seen through light, both natural and artificial. Matias is interested in the effects light has on a landscape; the temporal transitory effects of natural light and the glaring impact of LED home and road and street lighting. The colour themes Matias utilises are inspired by the effects of both on the worked landscape of Herefordshire, and his paintings talk of the relationship we have with the modern landscape.
