Overview

Taking inspiration from scientist James Lovelock’s Gaia theory – the earth as an interconnected super organism – Kovats’ reflects on water as the connective element on our blue planet. Water is in constant flux, like time: rain to river, river to sea, sea to ocean, evaporating and condensing, and flowing through our liquid selves. She asks us to consider how, as the seas hold onto everything we dump into them, they continue to fill up with human history.
