Marie Kølbæk Iversen : in-conversation & prepremiere

28 Mar 2015

Kunstraum

Overview

Join us for a conversation with Danish artist Marie Kølbæk Iversen and curator Mette Kjærgaard Præst. We will look at a selection of Kølbæk Iversen’s work, talk about her practice, about the inherent language of material and media, and screen a prepremiere of her new work 'Io/I' (working title). Marie Kølbæk Iversen explores concepts and processes of mediation and mediumship, perception and representation in various media – photography, graphics, and film, as well as large-scale installations based on closed circuit sound and video technology. In Kølbæk Iversen’s work it becomes clear that even if the input is ‘nothing’, the sheer process of mediation will fill the gap with ‘something’. This event is part of the parallel programme of 'Unlearning to speak' and continues Kunstraum’s ongoing 'Morphologies' programme – a season of exhibitions and events centred around the artistic imagination of language formation and the future potential of new forms of language.
