Interviews with Artists
19 Jun-27 Jul 2012

Eykyn Maclean London is delighted to announce Interviews with Artists, a curatorial collaboration with art historian Michael Peppiatt. The show will coincide with the publication of Peppiatt’s book of the same title published by Yale University Press. Peppiatt developed close relationships with many of the great artists of the twentieth century. His friendships and frequent studio visits with Frank Auerbach, Francis Bacon, Balthus, Brassaï, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Jean Dubuffet, R.B. Kitaj, Henry Moore, Claes Oldenburg, and Antoni Tàpies, among many others, have produced an extraordinary range of revealing interviews which combine to give a unique perspective on these artists’ life and work. The exhibition will draw on the insights from the interviews in the book and show works from a selection of these artists.
