Overview

Maison Martin Margiela's SHOWcabinet exhibition explores the pivotal role of scent in triggering memories. As part of the exhibition, a collection of illustrators were asked to create an original drawing that depicts a personal memory prompted by one of the Maison's Replica perfumes. To compliment SHOWstudio's 'Model Month' in December, each image will include the likeness of a top model. In true Margiela style, each memory drawing is concealed in a custom made, white box and will only be revealed when visitors peer inside, or interact with the exhibition online. Accompanying the drawings will be a perfume bar to sample the scents, a selection of couture pieces from the Replica range and objects from Line 13. The artists featured in the exhibition are Richard Gray, Piet Paris, Cathrine Raben Davidsen, Laura Laine, Claire Barrow, Tobie Giddio, Valerie Servais, Kukula, Rei Nadal, Tara Dougans, Amelie Hegardt, Helen Bullock, Fiona Gourlay, Stephen Doherty, Jowy Maasdaame, Josie Hall, Conrad Roset.
