Lara Favaretto & Wu Tsang

Overview

Lara Favaretto’s work explores sculpture as a constant process of creation and destruction. This exhibition, her first major solo show in the UK, brings together a range of works, often kinetic or disappearing, from the last two decades. It will also include a major public art commission: installed on the roof a system of fog machines will produce intermittent clouds of vapour from above the galleries. Wu Tsang’s films, installations, performances and sculptures move between fiction, documentary and activism and are deeply involved with queer activism and underground club culture. Her new film Duilian (2016), a special commission for this exhibition, is a kung-fu love story, shot over the course of a year in Hong Kong.
