FLAW : THE NEW WORK BY DEREK HILL

27 Nov 2010-23 Jan 2011

South Hill Park
Bracknell RG12 7PA

Overview

Bracknell Gallery. Flaw explores the unenviable task of pursuing the art of perfection. Combining industrial paint and solvents with oil painting, Derek Hill’s work appears almost three dimensional because of its rich luminous quality, which becomes transformed under both natural and artificial light. Hill’s practice presents the paradox of the industrial processes, which involves using toxic and combustible materials, to achieve something alive and organic. Derek Hill is the co-founder and lead artist of the Art Studio, Sunderland. Bracknell Gallery (open Wed 7-9:30pm, Thur-Sat 1-9:30, Sun 1-5pm) Closed 23 Dec-1st Jan.
