'Studies for a catalogue: a study for an exhibition of violence in contemporary art (Reprise 1964/2011)' Studies for a catalogue is a reprise of the 1964 ICA exhibition Studies for an Exhibition of Violence in Contemporary Art with some free omissions, replacements and a new catalogue. Neither an homage nor a critique of the original exhibition but rather an abuse and a levelling of artworks and their reproductions, the reprise takes a cue from the expansive events programme accompanying the 1964 show, by including a study of violence in film and music. We will launch the publication on Sunday 31 July from 2 - 6pm. You are invited to join us for a barbecue and an afternoon of music, film and text. Studies for a catalogue is an exhibition by Mathieu Copeland.
