Building Towner’s Contemporary Art Collection. Sara Cooper, Towner’s Collection Curator, discusses the 'Foundations' exhibition. This celebration of large scale contemporary works from Towner’s Collection features a variety of media, including painting, film, photography and sculpture, by artists including Anya Gallaccio, Tacita Dean and Jem Southam. Sara will reveal the pivotal role these works have played in shaping Towner’s recent contemporary collecting, and Towner’s future plans for expanding its collection – helped by the award of £1 million from Art Fund International for acquiring international contemporary art.
