Overview

In This Was Tomorrow, Michael Samuels further investigates sculptural structures, addressing formal, material and spatial qualities. He continues to utilise Modernist furniture, most commonly G-plan which he breaks down before rebuilding in a spontaneous manner. This process heightens the tension between the intended function of the objects and their immaterial value. Samuels will be in conversation from 4pm with Mark Waugh, past director of A Foundation and chair of Spacex board of trustees.
