Overview

Ron Terada is a Vancouver based artist whose work appropriates texts drawn from street signage, popular music and advertising. Through his deadpan reproduction of them, he considers language in a way that is comic, melancholic and self-effacing, apparently refusing authorial presence or control. The exhibition at Ikon, his first solo show in the UK, traces developments in the artist’s practice over the last decade.
