Trance, 1997 Click here to listen: https://www.frithstreetgallery.com/audiovisual/fiona-banner-trance-part-1 Trance is Banner's epic unabridged reading of THE NAM (1997), her 1,000 page all text flick book, comprised of six well known Vietnam War films: Full Metal Jacket, The Deer Hunter, Apocalypse Now, Born on the Fourth of July, Hamburger Hill and Platoon. Banner describes the films in their entirety, splicing them together as if there were no beginning, middle or end, to create one sweeping super-movie. THE NAM was described by a fellow writer as 'unreadable', in turn Banner recorded Trance, a hypnotic fourteen hour, twenty-two tape audiobook.
