SungYong Hong

5 Mar-11 Apr 2015

Beaux Arts
Kew, London

Overview

Sungyong Hong uses a technology in which lenticular lenses are used to produce printed images with an illusion of depth, or the ability to change and move as the image is viewed from different angles. The artist is calling his current series of works ‘Heuristic’, which refers to a method of study, or learning, whereby the tools of deduction, and trial & error, lead the investigator into a discovery. The depths and layers emerge in striking three-dimensional images, where circles and whorls of bright colours jump out of a black background.
