Kairi Tokoro (b. 2001, Japan) is an artist based in London whose practice spans sculpture, sound, and performance. His work explores the threshold between functional object and autonomous material — the moment at which a thing, released from utility, recovers an existence independent of human purpose. Working in close dialogue with his materials, Tokoro's process is attuned to the rhythms of physical matter, translating form into sound and sound into bodily sensation.
