Elinor Haynes

b. 1995, France

Elinor Haynes is a French-Australian multimedia artist based in London. She graduated from the MFA program at the Slade School of Fine Art in 2023. Her work has been exhibited internationally and has earned her recognition including the Kenneth Armitage Sculpture Prize (2023) and the Royal Society of Sculptors' Gilbert Bayes Award (2024).

Drawn to moments of sensual simplicity and extreme human behaviour, Haynes explores the tension between the spiritual and the carnal. Her practice spans sculpture, installation, and moving image, incorporating a wide array of materials such as glass, ceramics, bones, wood, saliva, sweat, and 3D video. Through this material hybridity, she interrogates embodiment—its messiness, vulnerability, and raw intensity—within a socio-economic climate that increasingly flattens and sterilises human experience.
