Jan 25 - Mar 18, 2018 FINAL WEEK
Gasworks presents Interlocutor, a major new commission by Rachal Bradley, produced by Gasworks through the Freelands Artist Programme, and in partnership with Kunstlerhaus Stuttgart.
Bradley is interested in organisational structures, processes and relations, how these shape meaning and code the relations between individuals and society. This includes, but is not limited to, art and the contexts in which it is presented and produced, and an attention to what art does as well as what art means.
Interlocutor begins from the privacy of the artist’s studio at Gasworks, occupied during her residency from 3 July to 18 September this year. Spiralling outward from here, like an IUD, it becomes more public in stages, from private, semi-public and public events, to critical writing, a solo exhibition and an intervention on the façades of the Gasworks building, the organisation’s most public aspect.

The first UK solo exhibition and a major new commission by Buenos Aires-based artist Osías Yanov.
Working across sculpture, video and performance, Yanov undertakes research in museums, archives and nightclubs, re-configuring the hierarchies of visibility that structure recent and ancient identities and cultures. Based on the idea of a ‘breeding ground’, where body language is freed from personal histories and preconceptions, Yanov’s commission will be developed on site during his three-month residency at Gasworks, which began on 8 January 2018.

Jul 5 - Sep 2, 2018
Private view Wed Jul 4 6.30pm - 8.30pm
The first solo exhibition in London and a major new commission by London-based artist Evan Ifekoya, whose recent works in film, performance and sound explore intimate and co-authored forms of knowledge production and the radical potential of spectacle. Ifekoya’s ongoing project A Score, A Groove, A Phantom (2015-) explores archives of blackness, sociality and inheritance as they diffract through queer nightlife and trauma. Drawing from their current research around Buddhist practice, speculative fiction and the echo as affective encounter, Ifekoya’s Gasworks commission will focus on polyvocality and the sculptural potential of sound.
