ZACH BLAS : CONTRA-INTERNET
Sep 21 - Dec 10, 2017
Contra-Internet is the first institutional solo exhibition by London-based artist Zach Blas.

Built around a video installation, the exhibition confronts the transformation of the internet into an instrument for state oppression and accelerated capitalism. Inspired by theorist Paul B. Preciado’s 2002 Manifiesto Contrasexual, the exhibition unites feminist and queer perspectives with a hacker ethos, attempting to fracture the global dominance of 'the Internet' while speculating on alternative network infrastructures that activists are developing globally.

The exhibition is co-commissioned by Gasworks, London; Art in General, New York; and MU, Eindhoven. Supported by Creative Capital, Arts Council England and Gasworks Exhibitions Programme supporter Catherine Petitgas.
