APEIROPHOBIA : KARIN KIHLBERG AND RUBEN HENRY

talk/event Apeirophobia is a new publication by artists Karin Kihlberg & Reuben Henry exploring the processes of translating an artwork into book format, an extension of a theme in Kihlberg and Henry’s work of things changing form through processes such as memory and recall, documentation and revisiting histories and possible futures. At the launch Kihlberg and Henry will be in discussion with writer and artist Emma Cocker and designer James Langdon to discuss some of the issues of making an artists book and publishing. They will also present two videos, including a documentation of the literal launching and shooting of 30 copies of the book.
Karin Kihlberg (SE) and Reuben Henry (UK) lead a collaborative artist practice and are based in London. They worked as researchers at the Jan van Eyck Academy between 2008-10 and initiated and led the international production residency, Springhill Institute between 2004-08. Their practice spans from video, performance to drawing and writing. They are the 2012 recipients of the Great North Run moving image commission in Newcastle. Apeirophobia was commissioned and published by VIVID, a UK agency for media arts. The publication is funded by The National Lottery through Arts Council England and The Henry Moore Foundation. The Booklaunch video was made with the assistance of Wysing Arts Centre. Apeirophobia is 128 pg paperback B/W Priced £10 with a special launch night price of £7.50
